How to setup Disqus commenting on your blog

First, you'll need to create a Disqus account and then secondly you'll need to let your Umbraco theme know your newly created website short name.

Step 1

Go to https://disqus.com and Get Started.

Step 2

Signup with Facebook, Twitter, Google or your email address.

Step 3

This step is very important. Make sure you choose 'I want to install Disqus on my site'.

Step 4

Create a website name.

Step 5

There are paid plans you can set up but for now, select the FREE plan. You can use this forever.

Step 6

Ignore the platform setup. Click on 'Configure Disqus'.

Step 7

Enter your website name and then 'Complete Setup'.

Step 8

Choose to 'Dismiss Setup'.

Step 9

You will now be on the Disqus dashboard. Click on the top navigation item, 'Settings'.

Step 10

Locate your website Shortname. Copy this name.

Login to the CMS.

Step 12

In the tree menu, go to Blog.

Go to the 'Settings' tab.

Paste your website short name into the 'Disqus Username' field.

Save and Publish.
