How to add or edit a Registration Form for members

You can add a Registration Form to any page or blog post within uSkinned Site Builder for Umbraco.

A Registration Form is directly related to your own website Membership. Once registered, via a two-way verified process, your website Member will be able to Login to your website and view content specific to them. In order for them to access this content, you should create a Login Form too.

Step 1

Login to the CMS.

Step 2

In the tree menu on the left, go to (or create) a page or blog post.

Step 3

On the 'Content' tab, scroll to 'Main Content'.

Step 4

Click the 'Add content' button.

Step 5

From the slide-out panel, select the component 'Form'.

Step 6

At the label 'Form type', select 'Register Form'.

Step 7

You can create various 'Member Groups'. You can then associate individual members with a specific 'Member Group'.

You should select which 'Member Group' the user will be added to. Do this by clicking 'Add' next to the label 'Member groups' and then use the slide-out panel to choose the correct group for this form.

Step 8

At the label 'Set email address as username', you can choose to have a specific username field or whether you would prefer the username to be a users' email address.

This is personal preference, please use the toggle to decide.

Step 9

At the label 'Admin approval required', select whether you would like your admin user to approve all registrations.

We would recommend you toggle 'Yes' to this for added security.

Step 10

At the label 'Email confirmation required', select whether the user should receive a verification email to confirm their registration.

We would recommend you toggle 'Yes' to this for added security.

Step 11

At the label 'Member confirmation email', you can enter the content that should be sent to a user after signing up, if you have chosen that 'Email confirmation' is required above.

Please use the snippets provided to add a personal touch to the email.

Step 12

Here you can add:

  • Heading
  • Secondary Heading
  • Introduction copy
  • Button text
  • Submission message
    • We would recommend you add content here, this will let your users know they have registered successfully.

Step 13

In the bottom right, hit 'Submit'.

Step 14

'Save and Publish' your page or blog post.

Your new 'Register Form' is now available on your website.
