3,2,1... Site Builder has landed on Umbraco 9

One of the most hotly anticipated packages for Umbraco 9 is out — the award-winning uSkinned Site Builder.

We're delighted to announce the immediate release of uSkinned Site Builder for Umbraco version 9.

As of today, uSkinned Site Builder is a .NET 5 (ASP.NET Core) package for Umbraco 9 — the first Site Builder available on the market!

Here's what you can expect from uSkinned Site Builder for Umbraco version 9:

An award-winning experience

The underlying framework and code might have changed but you'll still get an award-winning, awesome Site Builder experience. This means that everything should be instantly familiar if you’ve worked with uSkinned Site Builder before.

100% .NET 5 and ASP.NET Core.

uSkinned Site Builder for Umbraco 9 is now built for .NET 5 and ASP.NET Core.

This allows any developer to take full advantage of all the improvements and performance enhancements provided by Microsoft ASP.NET Core and gives them access to new technologies like Razor TagHelpers, Microsoft Dependency Injection, and View Components.

Compatible with macOS, Linux, and Microsoft Windows

Great news for macOS and Linux users! With Site Builder for Umbraco version 9 being on .NET 5, uSkinned, like Umbraco 9 itself, is now cross-platform compatible meaning developers can choose their preferred environment.

Get started today

With Umbraco 9 there are no longer ZIP package installations that our existing users might've been used to on previous versions of Umbraco, instead, users should install directly using NuGet.

You can follow the steps below to get started.

Download and install Umbraco 9 via NuGet

Follow this guide on how to download and install Umbraco 9 with the command line.

Download and install uSkinned Site Builder via NuGet

Once you've finished installing Umbraco 9 with the command line, please run this snippet:

Download and Install Umbraco 9 & uSkinned Site Builder via NuGet at the same time
